If You Have Been Arrested
If you have been arrested or informed that you are the subject of a criminal investigation, the steps you take can be extremely critical. When this occurs remember not to panic, not to talk with police and to certainly consult with an experienced criminal defense lawyer. Remember, the cops are not your friends. Both the police and the prosecution will do their best to build a case against you. So, although they may appear friendly and urge you to “cooperate,” it is important you remember that whatever you say at the time of such an interrogation can and will be used against you during your trial. Talking the police without an attorney present will not help your case.
Early Intervention is Critical
As soon as you are aware of being under investigation, it is advisable to speak with a skilled attorney right away. If you have already been arrested, please contact an experienced defense attorney before speaking with the authorities. Do not wait until you have been charged or until your court date. It is important to act quickly in order to get your best shot at justice. At Musca Law, we offer free, no-obligation consultations to anyone who is facing charges in West Palm Beach.
