Jesse Smith is native of Gainesville, and has spent is entire career practicing throughout North Florida. Mr. Smith graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 2002 with bachelor's degree in History. He received his law degree from the University of Maryland in 2006.
While in law school Mr. Smith developed a passion for criminal law, interning at the Office of the Federal Public Defender in Baltimore as well as the Office of the State Attorney in Gainesville. He also clerked for a Baltimore defense firm which specialized in federal drug cases.
After passing the bar Mr. Smith went to work as a prosecutor in Gainesville, Florida, and after three (3) years, he entered private practice handling criminal and civil cases in both State and Federal Court in North Florida.
Mr. Smith has experience handling charges ranging from speeding citations to murder, and has successfully defended clients at trial on numerous charges including driving under the influence, domestic battery, and sex offenses.
