Sometime on Thursday, the young victim spoke with police and claimed that Joesph Burtis Middlebrooks III has been molesting her for approximately one year. She claimed that she was touched and fondled by Middlebrooks on multiple occasions after which he would ask her not to tell anybody because if she did it would cause his life to be ruined.
For several years, Middlebrooks has worked as a firefighter in Panama City Beach for years and has also helped coach girls’ volleyball teams in PCB. Middlebrooks turned himself into the police over the weekend.
The authorities have stated that Middlebrooks has been charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12. His bail was set at $50k. He saw a judge on the morning on December 2nd and was able to post bond a short time later.
