Melbourne, FL – Lamishia West Arrested for Attacking Uber Driver

Melbourne, FL (December 2, 2018) – Police arrested a 25-year-old woman in Melbourne on Friday, November 30th.According to reports, Lamishia West requested that an Uber driver respond to the area Saxon Street to pick her up.  West asked the driver to take her to a home on Lipscomb Street.  The driver then began to travel towards Lipscomb before stopping at Church Street and Main Street.  The driver told West that he did not feel comfortable going to Lipscomb Street because he had previously been a victim of a crime at that location.

West then allegedly became angry with the driver, who offered to take her home on an alternate route.  When West refused, he asked her to get out of his vehicle. That is when West allegedly punched the driver in the face repeatedly and attempted to prevent him from calling 911.

When police arrived, West told them that the driver had attempted to push her out of the car before she hit him in the face.  Based on evidence gathered at the scene, West was arrested and charged with battery on a person 65 or older and tampering with or harassing a witness.

She was placed in the Lee County Jail under a $7,000.00 bond.  She later posted the bond and was released.
