Brandon, FL – Two Charged with Child Abuse After Child is Severely Beaten

Brandon, FL (January 17, 2019) – A 28-year-old mother named Amber Jones has just been arrested after she and her live-in boyfriend brought a 4-year-old girl to the emergency room covered with injuries over her entire body. Jones was charged with felony child neglect with great bodily harm and failure to report child abuse after taking the 4-year-old to the hospital with severe injuries.

Jones and her live-in boyfriend, 28-year-old Allen Michael Stanford, brought the girl to the Brandon Regional Hospital emergency room this past weekend. They claimed that the girl had injuries that were self-inflicted. However, emergency room doctors took a closer look and found visible injuries to her entire body that were consistent with child abuse over a period of time.

Stanford was immediately arrested at the hospital on January 14th and was charged with three counts of child abuse with great bodily harm and one count of child neglect. As of today, the mother of the child has also been arrested and is being charged with felony child neglect with great bodily harm and failure to report child abuse felony child neglect with great bodily harm and failure to report child abuse.

The little girl has since been taken into protective custody by Child Protective Services.
