47-year-old Penny Rebecca Pospisil was arrested today after the murder of 55-year-old Anthony Franklin Mitchell. Mitchell’s family told investigators that they last heard from him in August 2018. At the time, the two had been living together in the Lake Panasoffkee RV village in a recreational vehicle.
Pospisil began telling her family and friends that Mitchell had died and neighbors began smelling a foul odor coming from their camper. Pospisil then moved the camper to Wickham Park and nobody reported ever seeing Mitchell.
Mitchell’s body was discovered soon after the rent expired on the campsite. Investigators said that Mitchell’s body had been dismembered and was in advanced stages of decomposition. The cause of death was ruled to be blunt force trauma.
Pospisil was charged with second-degree murder.
