Knoop was arrested on charges of an aggravated battery without intent to kill and a misdemeanor trespassing charge. He pulled into the Key West High School parking lot because he said that a pickup truck was following him. He and a couple of teens then gathered in the parking lot and an argument about a female ensued.
The student told police that Knoop threatened him. Knoop admitted to police that he pulled a knife on the student but did not intend to use it. He said that his girlfriend was threatened and that he was trying to protect her.
Police were unable to locate the knife, as Knoop said that somebody took it from him.
