Chemical tests involve checking blood alcohol concentration.
Field Sobriety Tests
The first field sobriety test is focused on the driver's eyes. The police officer might ask the driver to follow a moving object or focus on an object. If the driver cannot focus on a particular object, there is suspicion for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver might also be asked to stand on one leg or touch a finger to his or her nose. Other tests include asking the driver to walk in a straight line and turn.
