There are two types of sobriety tests: field sobriety and chemical tests. If you are pulled over for suspicion of DUI, then you are subject to either of the tests. In the state of Florida, implied consent laws mean that if you're using the privilege of operating a vehicle, you have consented to sobriety tests. Chemical tests involve checking blood alcohol concentration.

Field Sobriety Tests

The first field sobriety test is focused on the driver's eyes. The police officer might ask the driver to follow a moving object or focus on an object. If the driver cannot focus on a particular object, there is suspicion for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver might also be asked to stand on one leg or touch a finger to his or her nose. Other tests include asking the driver to walk in a straight line and turn.
