Yohance Kefense McCoy
Yohance Kefense McCoy, Esq. is a seasoned criminal-defense attorney who has spent more than a decade fighting for Floridians’ rights in courtrooms across the Central and Northern Counties. Since entering private practice in 2012, he has balanced a heavy caseload while earning multiple jury acquittals, negotiating countless favorable plea agreements, and winning appellate reversals. His record of meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy, and unwavering client communication makes him a natural fit for Musca Law’s results-driven defense team.
Attorney McCoy’s practice spans the full spectrum of criminal cases: DUI/BUI, drug possession and trafficking, violent-crime and firearms charges, domestic-violence allegations, theft and fraud, probation violations, and post-conviction or immigration issues that intersect with criminal law. He is admitted to The Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and he maintains active memberships in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Highlands County Bar Association.
Educated at St. Thomas University School of Law where he was a Senior Articles Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review and majored in Criminal Justice at Bethune-Cookman College, Mr. McCoy has also shared his expertise as a continuing-legal-education presenter and former visiting professor at Florida A&M University College of Law. Above all, he believes every client deserves uncompromising, strategic defense—“no shortcuts, no excuses”—and he brings that philosophy to every Musca Law case he handles.
