Attorney Michelle Kashouty is a dedicated and experienced criminal defense lawyer who represents individuals facing both misdemeanor and felony charges throughout Florida’s Treasure Coast, including St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee, and Indian River counties.

Originally from Southern New Jersey near Long Beach Island, Michelle pursued her undergraduate education at New York University, where she earned a degree in psychology with a minor in American literature. In 2017, she relocated to Stuart, Florida to attend Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. While in law school, she became an active member of the NSU Trial Association and the Moot Court Society. Her excellence in advocacy earned her the prestigious CALI Book Award in Trial Advocacy.

Michelle began her legal career as a Certified Legal Intern at the 19th Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in May 2018. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2020—finishing in the top 8% of her class—she went on to become an Assistant Public Defender in the same circuit, where she built a strong foundation in criminal defense. Her caseload included juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony matters, and she gained substantial courtroom experience in bench trials, jury selection, jury trials, and violation of probation hearings.

Michelle is a proud member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the St. Lucie County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is known for her passionate defense of constitutional rights and her unwavering commitment to her clients.

Outside of the courtroom, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching horror films, and reading psychological thrillers.
