CLEARWATER, FL - June 16, 2020 - According to a news report published on cbslocal.com, a former probation officer was arrested and charged with allegedly committing sexual battery, and blackmailing the victim for sexual acts. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has asked the past victims of the former probation officer to come forward. The 29-year-old suspect, of West Palm Beach, Florida, was arrested at approximately 11:45 a.m. on June 11, 2020. The suspect was charged with two counts of sexual battery, and blackmail, as reported by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The criminal investigation against the suspect began on October 14, 2019, after allegations were made by the victim. The victim, a Pinellas County Jail inmate at the time of her complaint, filed a complaint against the former probation officer, with the Pinellas County Jail detention deputies. The victim alleged in her complaint that her probation officer, the suspect, was blackmailing her in order to force her into performing sexual acts on the suspect.

The news report states that the victim was on probation beginning in December of 2017. The victim was ordered to report to her probation officer within one day of her release from prison. When the victim appeared at the Department of Corrections probation office in Clearwater, Florida, the victim was assigned the suspect as her probation officer. The news article claims that detectives discovered that the suspect performed a "home check" at the residence of the victim in the first month of her probationary period. The victim alleged that the suspect made an accusation that she violated the terms of her probation concerning her residence and that the offense would be dealt with at a later time. Also, the suspect had the victim appear at the probation office numerous times, and the suspect told the victim that he documented each of her drug tests as clean.

The victim reported to investigators that back in March of 2018, the suspect produced laboratory results from a drug rehabilitation center that showed her drug test as positive for illegal drugs. Instead of positive results becoming a violation of her probation, the suspect drove to her residence, picked her up, and then drove the victim to an unknown spot in Pinellas County and the suspect sexually battered the victim.

Investigators discovered one more situation where the suspect met with the victim at the victim's residence and told her to sit in the front seat of his motor vehicle. While the victim was inside the suspect's motor vehicle, the suspect told her to give him oral sex to avoid violating her probation.

The suspect was transferred from the probation office in Clearwater, Florida, to the probation office in Palm Beach. The suspect resigned about one month later. The investigators were able to obtain a DNA sample of the suspect, and the DNA sample was a match with a DNA sample taken from semen samples removed from the victim's clothes. The Pinellas County detectives acquired a warrant for the suspect´s arrest. With the help of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, investigators placed the suspect under arrested at around 11:45 a.m. on June 11, 2020.

The suspect denies the allegations, and he is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail until he is transported to Pinellas County, Florida, to face criminal charges.
