TAMPA, FLORIDA - According to an online news report on wtsp.com, a man has been arrested and charged with several felony criminal charges. The news report states that the suspect is accused of attacking a woman and then sexually battering her outside a nightclub in Tampa, Florida. The suspect is currently behind bars.

According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office press release, a 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the nightclub attack. The suspect faces several felony criminal charges, including sexual battery, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and kidnapping.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that a man approached a woman who was walking home from the Aqua Lounge on Waters Avenue. According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the man allegedly struck her in the face, choked her, and then sexually battered the woman.  

Sheriff Chad Chronister stated that he commended the victim for having the strength to come forward to report the incident to law enforcement. The incident is currently under investigation.
