ORANGE COUNTY, FLORIDA - A news story posted on clickorlando.com reports that a 21-year-old man was arrest and charged with first-degree murder following the deadly shooting of a 34-year-old man at a Walgreens store in Orange County, Florida. According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the 21-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday.
Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies reacted to an emergency 911 phone call stating there was a shooting at a Walgreens store located on Orange Blossom Trail and Sand Lake Road. The Orange County Sheriff's deputies found the victim suffering from several life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim tragically passed away at a local area hospital.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit, the Sheriff's deputies reviewed surveillance camera video that captured the suspect and a woman walking into the Walgreen's liquor store, where the couple hastily spoke to three men, including the suspect. Two of the other men had dark clothes on, while the suspect was wearing red shorts and a white shirt.
Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that the three men exited the liquor store, and they waited outside until the victim exited the Walgreens liquor store at around midnight. Then the group began a "verbal altercation" between the victim and the men wearing dark clothing. As the altercation commenced, surveillance video footage showed the victim entered into a silver Jeep, which was parked outside the Walgreens store, and exited.
According to law enforcement authorities, the victim left the Jeep, and rushed at one of the men wearing the dark clothing. The victim was then shot several times with a handgun by the suspect. According to Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies, the three men ran into the Heritage Motel, which is where law enforcement authorities found out the suspect has been living for several months. The suspect is facing a charge of first-degree murder.
