PINELLAS COUNTY, FL - July 16, 2020 - According to an online news report published on Patch.com, twin brothers were arrested by Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies. The news report states that the two brothers were staying at a hotel in Oldsmar, Florida. The Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies received a call and were dispatched to 3990 Tampa Road in Oldsmar, Florida. The Holiday Inn Express received complaints from numerous guests that the hotel smelled of marijuana on their floor. At approximately 10:27 p.m. on Monday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene to conduct an investigation.

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies tracked the source to a specific room, and the deputies knocked on the suspect's hotel room door. The Sheriff's deputies met with the twin 19-year-old brothers. The brothers are from Oldsmar, Florida. One of the brothers permitted the Sheriff's deputies to enter their hotel room. At that moment, the twin brothers showed the Sheriff's deputies that they only possessed a small baggie of marijuana with them inside the room.

However, according to the new online news report, Sheriff's deputies saw in plain view numerous pounds of marijuana individually packaged, smoking pipes, more than 100 THC oil cartridges, six handguns, and an AR-15 rifle. One of the pistols turned out to be a stolen handgun. In addition, law enforcement officers secured a search warrant for the twin's other hotel room. They found an AK-47-style rifle, many more pounds of marijuana, and an M12 distraction device. Law enforcement also discovered over $36,400 bundled with rubber bands.

The twin brothers were then arrested on several drug and weapons charges. A total of six handguns, one AK-47, one AR-15, 82.5 doses of Alprazolam, 67 pounds of marijuana, and 363 presumed cartridges of THC oil cartridges were taken into evidence. As investigators followed up on leads, they were made aware of a storage unit that was connected to the twin brothers. After law enforcement secured consent to search the storage unit, the law enforcement officers found another $103,468 in cash. The total amount of cash seized was $139,883. The cash was seized according to the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act. The Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act is a collection of Florida laws that govern Florida's asset forfeiture procedures.

The twin brothers are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, grand theft (firearm), possession of Alprazolam, possession of THC oil, and armed trafficking in cannabis. The twin brothers from Oldsmar, Florida, did not give investigators a statement. The two were transported and booked at the Pinellas County Jail. The brothers were released subsequent to posting $190,000 in bail, each.
