Fort Myers, FL (December 1, 2018) - A man and a woman are facing charges after being accused of shooting at a man in Fort Myers.  The events at issue occurred on Friday, November 30th.

The Fort Myers Police Department responded to the intersection of Golfview and Cleveland Avenues around 2:06 am in reference to a shots fired call.  As officers searched the area, they were approached by a man who said someone shot at him approximately a block away from the location.  The man further told officers that he had shared a taxi ride with another man and they had agreed to split the fare.  However, the other man refused to pay the taxi fare which led to a confrontation between the two men.

As the men were arguing over the fare, a woman instructed the man to shoot at the victim.  After the shooting, the victim fled the scene.  Police were able to locate and identify the shooting suspects as 28-year-old Carrasquillo Ortiz and 33-year-old Stephanie Mesa.  Both Ortiz and Mesa are charged with aggravated assault without intent to kill.  Following their arrest, Oritz and Mesa were taken to the Lee County Jail.
