According to Tampa police, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies stated that they discovered a man in his 20s tragically killed from one or more gunshot wounds. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies later arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting as detectives worked to ascertain what happened.

According to an arrest report and county jail records, the arrest occurred early on Thursday. The defendant, a 25-year-old man from Tampa, Florida, was arrested and charged with manslaughter with a weapon. The suspect was being held in the Hillsborough County jail instead of posting his court-assigned $15,000 bail. Jail documents show the defendant lives at a home address on the 10100 block of North Lantana Avenue in Tampa, Florida, and is a self-employed mechanic.
