Gainesville, FL (April 14, 2019) – A truck driver from Williston was arrested in Gainesville this week after police say that he stole a pack of steaks and ribs from a food distribution truck. 41-year-old Charles Rasaeed James was taken into custody by Gainesville police on Thursday, April 11th.

Officers say that James was seen on camera taking the meat from his truck and placing it a separate vehicle. After viewing the footage, officers decided to charge James with grand theft. After his arrest, he was questioned by officers regarding his role in the crime. He allegedly admitted to taking the meat at that time.

The value of the ribs is $334 per case while the steaks were valued at $224 per case. James was taken to the Alachua County Jail following his arrest. There is no word on whether he is still in jail at this time.
