Coral Springs, FL (January 18, 2019) – A man from Coral Springs, identified as 25-year-old Anthony Duran McBride Jr., was just arrested after kidnapping and sexually battering a minor back on September 5th of 2017.

At the time of the incident, the 15-year-old girl was on a Broward County Transit Bus on her way home from school when she was forcibly removed from the bus by a man later identified as Anthony Duran McBride, who was 24 years old at the time the incident occurred.

The bus was stopped at the intersection of Royal Palm Blvd. and North University Dr. which is when the man forced the victim into a vehicle and took her to an abandoned Coral Springs apartment located inside the Parkside Townhomes complex where he sexually assaulted and battered her. When he finished assaulting the young girl, he dropped her off at a nearby park after taking her to a local Wendy's and telling her that he would be seeing her again soon.

Near the end of November, the young victim was able to positively identify Anthony Duran McBride as the man who kidnapped her from the bus and raped her inside of that abandoned apartment from a double-blind photo line up.

This past Wednesday, Coral Springs Police and their SET (Selective Enforcement Team) were able to arrest McBride at his home in Coral Springs.  They say that he was employed at the Sawgrass Mills Mall at the Cheesecake Factory.  He used the bus and his bike to travel back and forth to his job.  He also resided in the very area where he raped the young victim.

McBride had previously been at the center of another sexual battery case that took place in 2015 but the victim was uncooperative and the case was unable to move forward.

McBride is facing charges of kidnapping and the sexual assault of a person under the age of 18.
