Daytona Beach, FL (May 21, 2019) – On Wednesday morning, police responded to the scene of a shooting after a dispute over loud music took place outside a pizzeria.
911 calls were made around 3:31 a.m. around 504 Seabreeze Boulevard, at Angelo’s Pizza House. Witnesses said that a man had been sitting at an outside table behind the pizza shop and got into a dispute with the owner of a black Mustang who was nearby and playing loud music.
An argument ensued and the driver of the Mustang got out of his vehicle. He approached the man sitting outside. The man sitting outside took out a gun and fired a shot, striking the driver of the Mustang in the ribs.
Both the shooter and the victim failed to cooperate with the police. Police viewed surveillance videos and found that the victim, 33-year-old Jason Fox, shoved the suspect, 44-year-old Jason Shelly, into outdoor furniture. That was when Shelly took out his gun and shot the victim.
Fox has since been released from the hospital. Shelly was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and remains in jail at this time.
