FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - A news report posted on local10.com states that a Fort Lauderdale police officer is allegedly being sued for striking a man several times while the man was defenseless on the ground. The man who was in the process of being arrested was left bruised and bloodied. According to the news report, their reporters discovered that the Fort Lauderdale police officer has a history of committing over a dozen and incidence of excessive force on suspects.

In this incident, body camera footage captured the Fort Lauderdale police officer striking the victim in the face outside a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The incident occurred in front of "The Warf Bar" in Fort Lauderdale. The incident knocked the victim onto his back and several feet away from where he was standing.

The victim stated to the news reporters that all he could remember was being "sucker "punched in the face, and then he blacked out. According to the victim, he was telling the officer that they were leaving, we were leaving, and they weren't really allowing us all to leave. "The incident occurred on February 21, 2021.

According to the news report, the restaurant security I had kicked the group out in which the victim was a part. The group allegedly was kicked out of the restaurant when one of the group's females was involved in an altercation with another patron inside the restaurant. As the group was heading outside and leaving the restaurant, police officers attempted to stop the group.

The victim and his attorney stated that none of what law enforcement stated was true and that the video clearly showed exactly what happened.

According to the victim's attorney, it was pretty clear that his client was not going to do anything to the lawn Forssman officers. The video shows the victim holding his jacket, and he was also holding a woman. However, the officer wound up and gave the victim a right hook, which laid the victim out on his back at least 10 feet away. The video also shows the victim curled up and lying on the ground as he was being kicked and punched by the officer. The officer who is attacking the victim landed at least five punches to the victim's face while the victim was lying on the pavement.

According to the victim, he couldn't understand why things escalated "like that." The victim is only the latest individual to formally accuse the officer of abusing his authority and power.

According to the state's attorney's office, their criminal investigation is ongoing as to whether the law enforcement officer was justified in one incident where he shot a person at the Fort Lauderdale main bus terminal.

According to the Fort Lauderdale police department, the officer has been involved in 74 for the "use of force" situations dating back to 2015. The officer had also been cleared of wrongdoing and each incident.
