According to CBS News, a 47-year-old man was arrested for various charges after he and his four-legged friend were denied entry into a South Florida strip club. The 47-year-old and his kitten were not allowed to enter the Emerald City Gentlemen’s Club in Murdock, and after being denied entry, the man repeatedly called 9-1-1 while outside the business. Deputies were called to the strip club shortly after 9 p.m. the same evening by the owner of the club after the man ignored the owner's requests to leave with his feline companion.
Florida deputies noted the man appeared intoxicated, and they told him he needed to leave the premises and assisted in calling a taxi for him. However, when the taxi arrived, the man did not cooperate with the driver and instead began yelling and causing a disturbance, screaming that the club owner committed a crime by denying him and his kitten entrance to the club. The man continued to call 9-1-1 on his cell phone even though police were already at the scene.
The man had to be forcibly restrained by police and was placed under arrest. He was booked into the Charlotte County Jail on an assortment of criminal charges, including misuse of the 9-1-1 system, resisting arrest without violence, trespassing after warning, and disorderly intoxication. The man was released after posting a $4,000 bond and sobering up, and the kitten is reportedly in the custody of animal control.
