Jacksonville, FL (May 14, 2019) – 39-year-old Shawn Andrew Boggs of Jacksonville was charged with being on a child premises as a sex offender after he visited a campus.
Police say that Boggs was seen at the Onslow Early College High School at the Coastal Carolina Community College. Officers received a report stating that there was a registered sex offender at the campus around 9 p.m. on Monday. After police investigated, they secured a warrant for his arrest.
Boggs had a prior restriction as part of his Sex Offender Registration stating that he was not permitted to be around any areas where minors gather for educational and recreational purposes. This is due to the fact that Boggs had been arrested for assault and various other sex crimes in the past.
Boggs was also arrested in 2015 when he was found at an Onslow County elementary school for a baseball game even though he was not supposed to be attending.
