The Orange County Sheriff's Office reported that the suspect was arrested and booked into the Orange County jail and was denied bond.

Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies stated they responded to several calls from an apartment complex located on East Colonial Drive. The callers reported a suspicious-looking man and an incident where callers witnessed the man choking a woman. According to a police affidavit, the suspect was not a registered resident of an apartment, but the leasing office personnel verified with the Sheriff's deputies that the man was living there.

Sheriff's deputies were called out again and found the man without clothes screaming in the parking lot and believed to be under the influence of drugs or experiencing a mental illness incident. The deputies then detained the suspect and transported him to a local area hospital. The Sheriff's deputies reported that they went back to the apartment to speak with the person who is on the lease. The leasing office granted entrance to the Sheriff's deputies after the deputies observed blood on the outside of the apartment. The deputies entered the apartment and found blood in the living room. A sheet was covering a woman's partially dismembered body.
