Coral Gables, FL (January 27, 2019) - Officers in Coral Gables have arrested one person in a break-in that occurred in the city on Saturday, January 26th.  Police were called to the 4900 block of Orduna Drive in reference to shots fired just after 9:45 am.

The homeowner told police that two people knocked on his door and then left when he did not answer.  A short time later they returned and broke the door down.  The homeowner then confronted the suspects and fired two shots to scare them away.   One of the individuals involved jumped into a car while the other fled on foot.

A K-9 officer patrolling the area saw the suspect run towards a nearby golf course.  The golf course was barricaded off as police attempted to apprehend him.  Eventually, they were able use the K-9 to apprehend the suspect.  He was later identified as 22-year-old Nicolas Der Desrosier.  Derosier was charged with occupied burglary and resisting an officer without violence.

The second suspect remains at large.  Desrosier was booked in the Turner Guilford Knight Correction Center.
