Fernandina Beach, FL (November 17, 2018) – On Thursday, three teens were apprehended after a police pursuit led to the uncovering of two stolen cars, according to the reports from the Fernandina Beach Police Department.

Based on the initial report, one officer noticed two vehicles speeding in the vicinity of Citrona Drive and Jasmine Street. Heading toward the north end of the island, the two vehicles (one with no lights) sped out of the reach of the police officers.

Shortly after, the officers discovered one vehicle in the vicinity of Tarpon and Fifth Street and the second vehicle a half-mile southward near North Fletcher Avenue and the Fernandina Beach Main Park. One resident near Tarpon and Fifth confirmed one of the stolen vehicles slammed into his.

Sometime later, officers detained the three teenage suspects.

One driver, 18-year old Tyreeh Julius Wilkerson, has been charged with resisting arrest and is being held on probation from Georgia. Currently, he has been imprisoned at Nassau County Jail.

Meanwhile, the other driver, a 17-year old, was charged for attempting to flee police custody, leaving the crash site, trespassing, and resisting arrest. Likewise, the 15-year old passenger has also been charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. Due to their statuses as minors, their identities have not yet been disclosed.
