Jacksonville, FL (April 9, 2019) – A Junior high school teacher identified as 29-year-old Loren Bernard Neely was arrested after sexual activity with a teenager.

A former student came forward and told detectives that Neely had gotten her pregnant and then gave her money for an abortion. Since then, Neely has been charged with unlawful sexual activity with someone 16 or 17 and was jailed on a $250,000 bail amount.

The girl spoke with detectives initially in March and told them that she had consensual sex with Neely last year at her Jacksonville home. She said that she became pregnant and he gave her funds for an abortion, which other students confirmed through conversations they had with the teacher.

The young girl was able to provide detectives with screenshots of messages, including certain ones where Neely told her that she should lie about their relationship to school administrators to protect both of them.

The school district confirmed that Neely is no longer an employee there.
