Key West, FL (July 28, 2019) - A police officer with the city of Miami was arrested on DUI Charges in the Florida Keys.  The arrest happened on Saturday, July 20th around 7:15 pm.

According to reports, 39-year-old Danny Hebra was driving a Chevy Tahoe that was spotted weaving in and out of traffic for about a half-mile. Hebra attempted to make a right turn onto Jewfish Avenue when he was pulled over.  When asked to produce his registration, Hebra responded by handing the officer his police badge.  The arresting officer noted that Hebra smelled of alcohol, had a flush face, and slurred speech.

When asked to perform field sobriety tests, Hebra was swaying while standing in place.  Hebra then asked to make a phone call from the roadside.  Following the call, he informed officers that he did not wish to perform any field sobriety tests.  He was placed under arrest and taken to a station in Plantation Key.  Hebra then refused to submit to a breath test and also refused to give a written statement to police.

Hebra was charged with driving under the influence.  Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman with the Miami Police Department, confirmed that Hebra was an employee but otherwise declined to comment further on his arrest.
