Key West, FL (February 21, 2019) - Police reported that a woman was arrested after she smashed a beer bottle over the head of another woman in a bar brawl.

The incident happened this past week when 42-year-old Sally Amato became upset, thinking that a woman at the bar had grabbed her boyfriend's crotch. Monroe Sheriff’s Deputies said that Amato became enraged and smashed a beer bottle over the victim’s head. According to police, it was only a mistake and had not actually happened.

Now, Amato is facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The woman who was struck by the bottle was injured but was treated at the scene and is expected to be okay.

Amato’s boyfriend, identified as Dustin Messenger, was arrested as well after he came back inside the bar and kicked the bar door from its hinges.
