Marion County, FL (November 19, 2018) – This week, Marion County deputies were called to the scene of the Lake Weir High School after receiving a call for help from multiple coaches at the location. When they arrived at Maricamp Road, they found a suspect on the ground by the second base of the baseball field.
The suspect was identified as 46-year-old Taj Jones, who had allegedly been screaming and causing a disturbance. Jones was put in handcuffs, which is when police found out that Jones had jumped a chain-link fence by a local farm while the baseball practice was taking place. Jones took off his shirt and ran around the baseball and soccer field. The teachers believed that the man could be a threat to the students, so they were pulled into the dugout.
Jones was immediately taken to jail and charged with trespassing on school grounds and disturbing the peace. He is scheduled to appear in court to answer to his charges.
