Miami Beach, FL (November 17, 2018) – Only one week after he slashed dozens of tires in the Miami Beach area, a man was caught in a brutal fight on the Venetian Causeway. As a result of the fight, one male victim required hospitalization for an eye injury, while a second was stabbed.
On Tuesday, November 13, Miami Beach police apprehended 46-year old Diego Eduardo Lujan (who had previously been living in a car) on 21 criminal mischief counts. On November 14, the culprit also faced more serious criminal charges including aggravated battery, aggravated battery with weapons, armed-robbery (strong count), and an attempt at murder.
According to witness reports, Lujan had previously stolen a bike, fell off the vehicle, and punched a man who attempted to provide assistance. Then, sometime after, the culprit stabbed another man and pounded his chest like a gorilla.
Based on the report from Miami Beach Police, the Venetian Causeway had erupted into pure pandemonium. After he slammed into the biker, Lujan tumbled off the bike after the vehicle was entangled into the owner’s headphone cords. After the incident, on November 11, 21 car tires were found slashed.
