Miami-Dade, FL (November 14, 2018) – An English teacher at the Felix Varela High School in Miami-Dade was arrested for various forms of domestic battery after he allegedly beat his wife by slapping, kicking, and choking her, as well as making death threats.

Police arrested 31-year-old Rodolfo Amaral this week after his estranged wife told Miami-Dade police that he beat her from August 2017 up until just last week. She told police that on November 6, Amaral kicked her in the ribs, in the middle of the back, and told her that he had MMA training and could break every bone in her body.

His wife’s therapist told her not to call the police and to just spend the weekend apart. The school district found out about the charges and immediately terminated Amaral’s employment with the school.
