Pensacola, FL (March 6, 2019) – Police reported that a man was accused of sexually assaulting a teen in November and has just been arrested for the crime.

Allegedly, 29-year-old Jonathan Vercrouse attempted to force sexual intercourse on a teenage girl on various occasions while the two were at the same residence. The teen told a deputy and a forensic investigator about the incidents. She also told them that she rejected the suspect’s advances the five-to-six times he attempted them. She even once kicked him in the groin.

A man who knew Vercrouse came forward to police after an interaction he had with him when Vercrouse returned to Pensacola months later. He said Vercrouse asked him if he remembered the girl and admitted the sexual assault to him.

Vercrouse was arrested in Pensacola by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office yesterday, March 5. He has since been charged with sexual assault on a victim between 12-18 and lewd and lascivious behavior.
