TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA (LEON COUNTY) - A news story posted on wctv.tv states that the Tallahassee Police Department has announced that they have made an arrest in the shooting of a 16-year-old back in July 2020. The Tallahassee Police Department reported today that they arrested a 19-year-old man who they believe is connected to the fatal shooting that occurred back on July 15, 2020. According to law-enforcement officials, the shooting occurred at the 500 block of W. Orange Avenue in Tallahassee, Florida. After interviewing the eyewitnesses of the shooting, the Tallahassee police investigators discovered that the victim, along with two other witnesses, was going to confront the brother of the suspect after a physical altercation between the suspects in an unnamed person.

The Tallahassee Police Department arrest records state that the two witnesses told the victim about the altercation, and he became angry and promised immediate retribution against the suspect. Tallahassee Police Department says one of the eyewitnesses explained that they placed a pistol in a backpack, and the three men started walking towards the suspect's house located on Tuskeegee Street. Law enforcement authorities state that the victim started video recording using Instagram live video as the men approach the suspect's neighborhood. According to the arrest report, one of the men stated in the video that they brought a gun with them but only intended to have a physical fight, and they were calling out to the suspect in the video, asking the suspect to join them in a fistfight.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, the shooting incident was video recorded as well. The report states that two of the eyewitnesses were about 100 to 120 feet from where the shooting occurred. Please state that they had interviewed several members of the suspect's family. All of the suspect's family stated that the suspect was not at the house at the time of the shooting. Tallahassee Police Department stated that they were told by one of the suspect's brothers that the suspect admitted two firing the pistol.

The Tallahassee Police Department stated that when they interviewed the suspect, the suspect stated that he only fired a few warning shots. However, the suspect story changed after law-enforcement investigators confronted the suspect with the evidence that they had gathered at the shooting scene. The suspect has been charged with second-degree homicide murder.
