Walton County, FL (January 29, 2019) – Police reported that a man identified as 22-year-old Mark Anthony Weig was extradited after an online investigation into child sexual exploitation.

Police say that Weig transmitted harmful material via text messages to who he thought was a juvenile female, but who was actually an undercover investigator. He asked the investigator to take sexual pictures and then send them to him.

Weig also spoke with who he thought was a teenager about certain violent sexual behavior including that in which happened with a firearm and a knife. He told the ‘female’ that he wanted to travel to where she was so that he could have sex with her.

The Sheriff’s Office in charge of the case was able to obtain a warrant because of the violent messages. Police were able to locate and arrest Weig for the messages.

Weig has since been extradited to Walton County and is now facing multiple charges including two counts of transmitting harmful material to minors, soliciting a child, and more.
