TAMPA BAY, FL (HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY)- An arrest release posted on people.com reports that a 14-year-old Florida boy was tragically killed in a "Meaningless fight," according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.  The child was purportedly fatally run over by a car driven by an angry adult woman.  In addition to the act of vehicular murder, a female driver was shot and is fighting for her life during the altercation.   The incident happened at an apartment complex in Tampa Bay, Florida.

According to the arrest report, local law enforcement officers were dispatched to the conflict at approximately 9:30 in the evening.  According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the incident involved a woman in her 20s running down and killing a teenaged boy with her motor vehicle at a Carrollwood-area apartment complex located in the Carrollwood neighborhood of Tampa Bay, Florida. 

When the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the scene of the attack, the Sherriff's deputies discovered that a fight had occurred just prior to the car attack.  The Sherriff's deputies learned that the woman was likely to have been involved in the fight as well. 

According to the report, shots were fired at a driver, and the driver sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and was rushed to a local area hospital.  The driver is listed as being in critical medical condition, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Law enforcement officers did not provide the identities of those involved in the car-pedestrian attack, the driver, witnesses, or any other person involved in the altercation.  No witnesses gave statements to the press who were covering the sad and tragic incident. 

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chroniste stated in a news release that he and the Sheriff's Officer are deeply saddened by the tragedy that followed a "meaningless fight."  He also added that a child's life was taken due to the irresponsible actions of some adults who were engaging in a verbal dispute and failed to deescalate the fight. 

Sheriff Chroniste stated that the criminal investigation is ongoing and that there have been no arrests at this time.
