Sumter County, FL (November 14, 2018) – This week, a man was arrested on battery charges after he was involved in a brawl with his wife at their home in Mission Hills, Sumter County.

The man who received the charges was identified as 66-year-old Robert Schaeffer. Deputies arrived at the home after receiving a report by a neighbor, who heard a loud argument taking place inside the home. The deputy rang the doorbell, which is when he saw Schaeffer pushing a woman through the glass on the door. The deputy entered the home and separated Schaeffer and the woman.

Schaeffer immediately claimed that the woman bit him. Police were able to find out that Schaeffer had been arrested in August at his home, and the police reported that he grabbed her by the neck and told her that they were both going to die. A deputy examined the woman’s body and found that she had multiple bruises.

Now, Schaeffer is facing all new battery charges.
